Founded in 2013 in Paris, KAPLAN manages film & TV production revenues. In an increasingly legal and financial complex environment, we ensure proper revenue allocation between all production rightholders: scriptwriters, actors, and financial partners. We administer production royalties and secondary rights for around forty European production companies.
Secondary Rights
KAPLAN administers and collects producers rights from collective management organizations (Agicoa, Angoa, CRC, Filmjus, Intergram, Procibel, Procirep, Upfar-Argoa, Videma, Screenrights…). These secondary rights include various revenues generated by major TV broadcasts in numerous countries: private copying, cable and satellite transmission rights, IPTV, set top boxes, NPVR, public broadcast, educational uses. We collect revenue from more than 25 countries thanks to strong relationships with collective management organization and ground-breaking data management and tracking tools.

Royalties
KAPLAN offers a full production royalty management service. The aim is to share film and series revenues between rightsholders (scriptwriters, directors, actors, coproducers…) in accordance with legal regulation. We administer royalties for global hits such as The Bureau (The Oligarchs Productions) or Call My Agent (Mon Voisin Productions, Mother Production).

About
Kaplan is committed to serving its clients, employees, and stakeholders (rightsholders, collective management organizations, industry organizations). In 2020, Kaplan became a “Société à Mission” (equivalent to benefit corporation). This status is embodied our purpose: “to act as a driver of change in the TV and film industry”. In order to achieve this mission, we have set three main goals :
– Support transparency and revenue sharing in the industry
– Support employees well being
– Consider social and environmental factors in our decisions
Our mission committee yearly monitors the mission completion. It is composed of five members representing stakeholders.
We maintain close and friendly relationships within the company and with all our partners: clients, collective management organizations, suppliers. We operate as a freedom-form company bases on key principles: individual decision-making, no management hierarchical control, and full disclosure of information. This approach allows us to respect one of our mission’s goals, probably the most important, which is to favor employee’s well-being.
KAPLAN is an independent company and its team keeps a strong entrepreneurial mindset. We constantly seek to improve our service and offer new services to our clients.
